Position: Video Editing Instructor (Virtual Summer Programming)
Salary: From $21.87 an hour

About the Role
STEM Montessori Academy of Canada is seeking Enthusiastic, engaging University students, Club facilitators, Instructors, or Teachers with an expertise in the subject areas for online programming. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the concepts and principles of Video Editing and a passion for teaching and mentoring students aged 6 – 17 years old.
Shifts: Beginning July 14 – August 30, 2024 with possibility of extension. This class is virtual via zoom.
Weeks of Work: 8 weeks
Contract Length: July and August – Various day time hours minimum 2 hours per day max 6 hour per day
Main Duties
- Developing and implementing hands-on activities and projects to help students apply their knowledge and understanding in Video Editing.
- Creating and maintaining an online platform where students can showcase their work and collaborate with their peers on projects and assignments.
- Creating an atmosphere of experimentation, innovation, and exploration where students can apply the learning in a fun and engaging environment.
- Designing and implementing fun challenges to motivate and reward students who make the extra effort to master a specific concept or skill.
- Planning and delivering engaging and interactive virtual lessons that cover the various aspects of Video Editing.
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
- Staying current with industry developments and incorporating new knowledge into the curriculum.
- Collaborating with other instructors and department heads to develop and improve the electrical engineering curriculum.
- Supporting and mentoring students as they work on project and assignments
Requirements
- Vulnerable Sector police clearance check – A MUST within the last 12-months from date of issue.
- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Filmora, and ShotCut an asset
- MUST be dependable and organized
- Exhibit personal suitability and flexibility
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous online teaching experience would be an asset.
