Sabanci University Scholarships for International Students—Fully Funded 2024

Sabanci University is now accepting applications from International Students for its undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship programmes. These scholarships are fully funded and cover accommodation, living expenses, et cetera. Applicants must, however, apply for an undergraduate programme and state in their form that they would like to be considered for a scholarship.

With science, technology, and social structures advancing day by day, the world needs more qualified individuals who possess the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career anywhere in the world. Aware of this pressing issue, in 1994 the Sabancı Group decided to establish a “world university” led by the Sabancı Foundation.

The seeds of Sabancı University, the Sabancı Group’s most comprehensive social responsibility project in the field of education, were sown in the summer of 1995, at a search conference in which 50 academics from 22 countries as well as students and representatives from the private sector participated. The conference, however, was just the beginning, as it marked the start of an extensive process during which the leading educational institutions in Turkey and across the world were examined to find out how they work and identify the fundamentals that made them successful.

In the end, instead of choosing one university as a template or replicating existing examples and institutions, a new and unique university was designed. Since 1999, when students began enrolling, Sabancı University itself has set an example for many universities.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

For undergraduate admission

• Students who have graduated from an institution equivalent to Turkish high schools and those who are in their last year of high school may apply to the undergraduate programs
• Candidates should submit one of the exams/diplomas with valid score accepted by the University and enter their exam or diploma information and the score correctly on the online application form.

For postgraduate admission

• Hold an undergraduate degree with or be registered in the last term of an undergraduate program
• Candidates applying for the PhD Programs with a BA degree must hold a 3.00/4.00 GPA. The candidates graduated from institutions which apply a scale other than “X out of 4.00” system must provide a conversion table or an official letter of evidence from their institutions.
• Candidates applying for the PhD Programs with a Master’s Degree must hold a “Master with Thesis” degree. Candidates whose diplomas or transcripts do not contain such information must provide an official letter of evidence from their institutions.

Admission conditions for each graduate program offered by Sabanci University are determined by the respective graduate schools in line with the specific requirements of the program.

Required Documents

Undergraduate

1. The copy of one of the exam/diploma result(s) with a valid score accepted by Sabancı University
2. If graduated, High School Diploma (if in another language other than Turkish or English, notarized translation should also be submitted)
3. Official transcript, showing all courses and grades taken in the entire high school education, approved by the high school authority. Uploaded transcripts that are without a wet signature and stamp or without an e-signature, which can be verified online, will not be taken into consideration.
4. If taken before, a language proficiency exam score accepted by Sabancı University
5. If the applicant had/continues to have secondary education in Turkey, the following documents are required:
6. Residence Permit Copy for those with foreign nationality
7. Blue Card Copy or Official Letter for Renouncement from Turkish Nationality for those who renounced Turkish citizenship

• Residence Permit Copy or an official document that shows the date of acquisition of Turkish citizenship (such as Vukuatlı Nüfus Kayıt Örneği or court decision) for those who acquire Turkish citizenship not by birth

Postgraduate

5. English Proficiency Exam Result
6. Passport sized photograph

NOTE: Please note that your academic background, reference letters, exam results, transcripts, interview results and any document showing your academic success such as prizes in the competitions, any Olympiad certificates will be considered by the Scholarship Committee. Therefore, you should not miss out uploading these types of documents. Scholarship committee reserves the rights to request additional documents and/or conditions from prospective students. Once you are granted a scholarship during the admittance, it goes on for your regular education period.

Application Process

There is no separate application process to apply. If you are a Home or International applicant applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate program, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship, provided you submit your course application by the deadline below.
