We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Lead Hand to oversee all aspects of sanitation in support of our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout our facilities, implementing sanitation procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Salary: $45,000 to $55,000 a year

Main Duties
- Supporting the Sanitation team for all aspects of Sanitation in support of our operations.
- Oversee and evaluate effectiveness to meet all job requirements and ensure sanitation compliance with all Company and CFIA regulatory requirements.
- Administration of the Sanitation systems, including but not limited to:
- Ensures all paperwork/documentation completed related to QA, Safety, Environment, and other related areas for Sanitation programs.
- Create and manage the Sanitation SOPs for all equipment, manage chemical, cleaning, supplies stores inventories, and maintain Sanitation department MSDS.
- Ensure all JHSC requests are met, train & develop Sanitation Staff in processes & procedures for safety and sanitation.
- Maintain safe working environment in compliance with MOL requirements for Sanitation throughout the facilities.
- Create, maintain, update, and implement FFC Sanitation Work Training Manual for individual equipment.
- Supervision, coaching and monitoring Sanitation Staff in food manufacturing environment.
- Responsibility for all sanitation functions, including setting sanitation standards & SOPs.
- Maintain cleanliness of facility through dry and wet cleaning Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and janitorial tasks.
- Ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years as a Sanitation Lead Hand within a large automated multi-line Food plant
- Food Industry experience (meat, poultry, or seafood), familiarity regarding Food Safety and related audit requirements, are all preferred.
- GMP, HACCP, and all relevant health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge of Health & Safety and good manufacturing practices including Food Safety and audit requirements.
- Ensures open and effective communication, digest constructive feedback as an opportunity to listen, and improve the skills, abilities, and performance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, trouble shooting, process improvement skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Applications or equivalent.
- Action-oriented & self-starter.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Additional education (college, tech school, etc.) is preferred.
- Formal training/certification in sanitation Best Practices would be ideal.
- Occupational Health and safety certificate is preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Environment: Working in a food manufacturing setting with exposure to sanitation chemicals.
- Hours: Variable, including shifts and weekends to oversee sanitation activities.

- Communication: Effective communication for coordinating with teams and ensuring compliance.
