About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Assistant to provide essential support in a home care environment. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans, making it crucial for the Home Assistant to be attentive and responsive to the needs of those they assist.
Main Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and daily living tasks, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist in the preparation of meals and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised living environment for clients.
- Follow care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, documenting any changes in the client’s condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities to promote mental well-being.
Qualifications
- Experience in home care or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Strong IT skills for maintaining records and communicating effectively with team members.
- Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A valid driving licence and access to a car is required for this role.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
