Salary: £11.44 £12.00 per hour

About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with their daily living needs, helping them maintain the highest possible quality of life. This rewarding yet challenging role requires you to work independently in clients’ homes. To succeed, you’ll need compassion, strong communication skills, and a calm, caring demeanor.
Main Duties
- Personal Care: Follow the care plan to assist with showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, and teeth and dentures care.
- Medication Assistance: Encourage, remind, assist, and administer medicines; order and collect prescriptions; return unwanted medicines to the pharmacy safely.
- Eating and Drinking: Assist clients in planning meals and drinks; provide gentle encouragement and help with eating and drinking; shop for, prepare, and serve food and drinks; maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure food safety.
- Safe Use of Aids and Equipment: Assist clients with standing and walking frames, wheelchairs, manual and electric hoists, sliding sheets, moving boards, hearing aids, and other physical aids.
- Household Tasks: Perform housework including washing floors, vacuuming, sweeping, laundry, ironing, bed making, changing linens, dusting, and general tidying.
- Social and Physical Activities: Answer the door and greet visitors; respond to emergency bells and telephone calls; accompany clients on outings, shopping, visits to friends, or other activities.
- Support During Illness: Provide support through temporary and terminal illnesses, including end-of-life care and hospital appointments; liaise with community health support and families.
Qualifications
- Female carer with a valid UK driver’s license (Required)*
- Someone who enjoys building and managing relationships with the people they care for
- An adaptable, flexible and professional approach
- Empathy and consideration
- An ability to follow instructions and care plans
- The ability to solve problems, and spot new ways for us to do better and be better
- Authorisation to live and work in the UK
