About the Role
Nova Care Solutions has a great opportunity to work for a Children Residential Supportive setting. The home offer long term residential provision to children and young people aged 11-18 years old, the support worker role is to support children with Emotional &Behaviour Difficulties with challenging behaviour’s using a therapeutic approach. The home provision is Ofsted registered and operate within the legal framework of The Children’s Homes Regulations and The Quality Standards 2015.
Our aim is to support our young people to grow self-esteem, build positive relationships and trust, re-engage in education and look to build a brighter future for themselves.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to join our team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff. We are currently looking for full-time candidates, to work a shift pattern.
Main Duties
- Teaching independence: Using life skills, you will assist with the care of our children and young people, including practical aspects such as cooking and cleaning.
- Creating memories: Take part in a range of interesting recreational events, including holidays where appropriate.
- Building relationships: You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
- Giving Structure: Consistency and organisation skills are key. You will create timetables, setting boundaries and expectations for the young people.
- Building Structure: You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
Qualifications
- Due to the nature of this role, you must be 22+ to apply.
- Clean full enhanced DBS- Including Children Barred
- Good level of English communication- Verbal and Written
- A NVQ Level 3 in Residential Child Care OR willingness to work towards after probabtion
- Dedicated and committed to empowering young people to achieve their full potential
- Compassionate and reflective
- Have the ability to remain calm and professional when a young person is in a crisis
- Able to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays
- Sleep in duty to cover staff shortage
- Go on activities/holidays with children and young people
- 6 months minimum experience working with children or young people in support setting in the UK or International.
- Full UK/International Driving Licence is Essential
- British Citizen or Dependant/PSW Visa applicant only (NO STUDENTS or you will be rejected and No Tier 2 sponsorship holders)
