About the Role
Job Purpose: Ensure timely, accurate payroll processing while maintaining full compliance with government regulations.
Main Duties
- Prepare timely preparation and payment of all salaries, loan, advances, severance pay and statutory payments.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to payroll, including tax withholding, benefits, and payroll deductions.
- Ensure timely collation of necessary input from HR departments and accurate recording of payroll.
- Attend to staff complaints, queries and inquiries, providing necessary guidance to ensure quick resolution.
- Provide necessary schedules and information to internal and external auditors and supply payroll schedules to other entities
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Have extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes.
- Possess excellent organization skills and pay attention to details.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Be able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- A professional qualification or certification in ICAN/ACCA.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years’ cognate experience.
